Abstract

One of the public health problems is anemia in adolescent girls, which has an impact on growth, development, and productivity. It is expected that good knowledge and attitudes can help carry out effective anemia prevention measures. This study aims to study how the knowledge and attitudes of adolescent girls in Gondangrejo District, Karanganyar, contribute to anemia prevention practices.

This study employed a quantitative observational analytic method with a cross-sectional design involving 30 adolescent girls selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was conducted using univariate and bivariate methods with the Chi-square test.

The majority of respondents demonstrated positive levels of knowledge and attitudes towards anemia prevention. There was a significant relationship between knowledge level (p = 0,002) and attitude (p = 0,001) with anemia prevention practices. Knowledge and attitude play an important role in promoting anemia prevention practices among adolescent girls. Continuous educational efforts need to be enhanced to optimize anemia prevention within this population.
