Abstract

Due to its tropical climate, Indonesia is highly susceptible to various types of skin damage, and dry skin problems are widespread. The research aims to investigate the use of white gel extract, a natural ingredient that can be used as a moisturizer, to manufacture gels. The research process begins with sampling, extraction, preparation of moisturizing gel preparations, concentration variations of 3gr, 4gr, and 5gr, as well as preparation evaluation including organoleptic, homogeneity, uniformity, adhesion, pH, and skin moisture testing. The evaluation results showed that the entire formula meets the parameters of good availability. A moisture effectiveness test carried out on the inner arm skin of the panel for five days showed that the skin remained moist before and after use. The humidity values of F+, F0, F1, F2, and F3 are 40.28%, 27.88%, 38.92%, 40.88%, and 42.28%, respectively. Red watermelon peel extract (Citrullus lanatus) in the form of a gel can act as a skin moisturizer and meet good gel standards.
