PROFILE OF ANTIDIABETES USE IN TYPE II DIABETES PATIENTS IN THE OUTPATIENT PHARMACY INSTALLATION OF THE UNS HOSPITAL
Abstract
Elevate blood sugar is a defining feature of the dangerous illness know as diabetes mellitus. At the 12th level, the death rate form diabetes mellitus is 366 million. In the absence of any intervention, this number is projected to rise to 522 million in 2025, placing it in seventh place. Finding out the profile of antidiabetic medication use in the UNS Hospital outpatient pharmacy is the goal of this study. All outpatients at the UNS Hospital who were diagnosed with type 2 diabetes mellitus between June and July of 2023 comprised the research population. Microsoft office excel was used to tabulate the research data, and percentages were then derived by data processing. According to the findings of the study on the profile of diabetes medication use, metformine is the most commonly used drug in the biguanid group (16%), and metformin and glimepiride is the most commonly used drug combination (11%), both of which are sulfonylureas.
